Greetings,
Welcome to the official website of the Phi Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, which was chartered January 8, 2000. It is my esteemed honor to serve this chapter as the 14th President.
Our sorority was founded on the tenets of Sisterhood and Service. Our chapter was chartered by 55 energetic and empowered sisters who sought to expand our sorority's reach and overall impact in the Memphis Metropolitan area. Our chapter has grown to over 550 members, and our legacy of "Service to All Mankind" has grown with it.
Under the leadership of our International President & CEO, Danette Anthony Reed, and our international program platform, "Soaring to Greater Heights of Service & Sisterhood," we are actively engaged in impactful programming to improve the lives and communities we serve. Locally, we have several community partners, including Springdale Memphis Magnet Elementary School, Dress for Success, YMCA of Greater Memphis, Hattiloo Theatre, and Alzehimer's and Dementia Services of Memphis. Through the years, we've provided more than $250,000 in scholarships to youth to further their education.
The theme of this administration is "IMPACT: Leveraging Sisterhood to Create Transformative Change." We will do this through: Increased Involvement, Mentorship, Philanthropy, Adaptability, Collaboration, and Transformative Programs.
