21st- MLK Day of Service – National Civil Rights Museum – 7:30am -3 pm ; NCRM Volunteer orientation, application and waiver required. (AKA Impact Day)

1st – Pink Goes Red Day for Heart Health– Bringing Awareness to Heart Disease in Women. Sorors are asked to wear red and participate in a heart health activity.  Hickory Hill Community Center @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm | Free admission and Open to the public

7th - 10th -South Eastern Regional Conference (Mobile, AL)

7th – 10th - Chapter will participate with the SERC Service Project.

17th- Leadership Committee Workshop: "Increasing your Protocol IQ" @2:45 pm|Prior to the chapter meeting

20th - #CAP meeting at STREETS Ministries on Vance Avenue, 4:30 –

23rd – Room in the Inn service project at Mississippi Blvd Christian Church. Our chapter will serve the participants with breakfast that morning. We need sorors from 5 am to 8 am. Sorors are needed to prepare and/or serve breakfast, bed breakdown, and breakfast clean up. If you are interested in being of service to the community, please contact Soror Leslie Daniel. (Target 2 & 3)

23rd – Chapter adopt a highway clean-up event. 10am -11am (If weather permits). Please meet in the parking lot of Kaufman’s Shoes. (Target 3)

26th- Tennessee AKA Day at the Capitol


1st- Global Impact Day Observance 

6th- Sista Strut Walk at the Liberty Bowl Stadium. Sorors can register online. https://racesonline.com/events/sista-strut-memphis  Once registered, print out receipt & we will send a mass payment to iHeart Media. 12th- Global Impact Day at Grahamwood Elementary| 4p-5:30pm 

13th– Honoring 12 Aspiring women who are HBCU graduates – Members of PLO celebrated with our honorees, Soror Velma Lois Jones and Soror Katrina Thompson. (Target 1)

27th – ADS Forget-me-Not Annual Trivia Night at Temple Israel. The proceeds from this event are donated to Dorothy’s Place and Kennedy Park. (Target 2)



4th- The 7th Annual Running for the Pink Roses| TPC Southwind @ 4pm; $55 Tickets can be purchased on EventBrite

18th–  Restore, Refresh, Renew the playground at Grahamwood Elementary. 10am- 11am

19th – At chapter meeting conduct a Blessing in the Backpack Drive Sorors will bring healthy snacks and food items to assist with childhood hunger for students during the summer months (Target 3) Soror Last Name begins with (A-E fruit cups; F-J ramen noodles; K-O granola bars; P-T peanut butter or cheese crackers and U-Z juice pouch)



1st– National Kidney Foundation Walk – Rhodes College 8:00 am (Target 2)
1st– Pillowcase project – Hickory Hill Community Center 11:00 am (Target 5)

21st – Community awareness session for The Longest Day Alzheimer’s Support at Dorothy’s Place and Kennedy Park; Time: TBA. Sorors are asked to go on line and sign up for the Longest Day Alzheimer’s and make a monetary donation.  (Impact Day/Target II) 

22nd– Pillowcase project Part II – Hickory Hill Community Center 11:00 am (Target 5)


July (TBA) – The Academy for Empowering our Youth Back to School Drive & Health Fair 2019 at MBCC. (Target 1/Target 3)



10th- Save the Date: PLO Leadership Retreat, more details to come

18th - Summer Travel Toiletry Drive. Sorors bring travel size toiletry items to be distributed to a women’s and/or homeless shelter at a later date. (Target 3)

24th- Chapter Picnic-  Family is invited. Bring your own picnic basket with food and drinks.  Greater Assembly Pentecostal Church from 11am- 2pm

25th - International Day of Prayer – (AKA Impact Day)



15th – HBCU Spirit Day at chapter meeting. Sorors are asked to wear their HBCU alma mater t-shirt or favorite HBCU t-shirt. Sorors are also asked to bring a donation in their shoe size to support LeMoyne Owen College. (AKA Impact Day/Target 1)

16th – AKA HBCU Impact Day – (Target 1)



7th – Breast Cancer Awareness Day – (Target 2)

13th – Adopt-a-Highway clean up. (If weather permits.)

9th - Little Miss AKA Pageant ; Save the date -details coming soon

15th - AKA Caregivers’ Day Observance – PLO will partner with ADS in Memphis to serve the caregivers at the respected centers with an appreciation reception as they pick up their love ones. (Target 2)

18th – PLO chapter meeting – Sorors will be asked to bring a jar of peanut butter to donate to the Mid-South Food Bank. (Target 3)



16th – PLO will collect winter apparel (hats, gloves, scarves, socks) to be donated to needed families at local homeless shelters. (Target 2 & 3)
